Paediatric Physiotherapy

At Mid North Coast Allied Health, we have a dedicated team of paediatric physiotherapists who are experienced and passionate about assisting physical development of babies, toddlers and children (paediatric) with disabilities and motor delays. Our therapists work to assist children in our communities to achieve their goals and allow them to have the best quality of life. 

Our paediatric physiotherapists strive to make a big difference to the lives of children!  

We offer paediatric physiotherapy services for children with disabilities as well as children with gross and fine motor concerns or delays and musculoskeletal or orthopaedic concerns.  

At Mid North Coast Allied Health we believe every child should be given the opportunity to achieve their dreams and live a fulfilling life regardless of their disability. We provide fun and inclusive physiotherapy that empowers the child, their family and their support team with the knowledge and support to best support their child.  

Our paediatric physiotherapists are experienced assisting children with many disabilities but not limited to:

Paediatric physiotherapy (birth to teenage years): 

  • Newborn physiotherapy – including ex-premature babies 
  • Early intervention 
  • Goal directed therapy and functional therapy  
  • Casting and splinting including serial casting and pre and post toxin management 
  • Equipment prescription including walkers, standing frames, bikes and trikes 
  • Play based assessments and therapy  
  • Paediatric assessment for parents with concerns of child’s development  
  • Age-appropriate developmental screenings and assessments  
  • Bike/trike assessments and learn to ride programs  
  • Strength and conditioning programs for children with disabilities 
  • Clinic visits, home visits, preschool visits, school visits, gym and community visits available 
  • Work with families, care givers, preschool teachers and primary school teachers for an inclusive approach to reaching goals together 

Mid North Coast Allied Health are passionate about helping children with a disability achieve their goals and be active with their friends!  Mid North Coast Allied Health offer paediatric physiotherapy to children’s sporting injuries and orthopaedic concerns. 

Musculoskeletal injuries and orthopaedic concerns: 

  • Spinal concerns and back pain 
  • Intoeing gait  
  • W sitting  
  • Toe walking  
  • Flat feet, knocked knees or bowed legs  
  • Limping  
  • Severs disease (heel/achilles pain)  
  • Osgood Schlatters Disease (knee pain)  
  • Hip pain 
  • Weak core  
  • Asymmetrical head shape, or head flattening 
  • Gross motor delay including trouble with tummy time, delayed milestones including rolling, sitting, standing and walking  
  • Hypermobility and low tone 
  • Congenital orthopaedic conditions, including positional Talipes, torticollis and plagiocephaly 
  • Gym based strength and conditioning programs 

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a national scheme that funds reasonable and necessary supports to people with a disability, to help them achieve their goals throughout life.  Mid North Coast Allied Health are able to see clients who are self-managed, plan managed and agency managed under the NDIS. 

Private paying paediatric physiotherapy consultations are also available. Private consultations do not need a referral from your doctor. You may be entitled to a rebate through your private health insurance.
